Strengthening Booth Management and Voter Verification: Prashikshana Varga Held in Bangalore South
As part of the ongoing Prashikshana Varga training programme being conducted 
across every assembly constituency, a focused session on SIR (Special Intensive Revision) and booth management was held on 23rd April in the Bangalore South Assembly Constituency.
The session witnessed the presence of senior leaders including Dr. 
Manjunath, Member of Parliament, MLA M. Krishnappa, District President C. K. Ramamurthy, and Jayanagar MLA. Their presence underscored the importance of strengthening grassroots-level organizational efforts and ensuring electoral integrity.
I had the opportunity to address the gathering as the key speaker, where I emphasized the critical role of SIR in maintaining a clean and accurate voter list. SIR is a systematic process carried out by the Election Commission of India to verify the presence of voters at the booth level. This exercise ensures that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls, while names of individuals who are no longer residing in the locality are identified and removed.
During the session, I also highlighted the importance of effective
booth management. Booth-level teams and karyakartas serve as the backbone of the electoral process. Their close engagement with local residents enables accurate data verification, timely updates, and better coordination during elections.
The Prashikshana Varga initiative aims to equip party workers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and clarity on responsibilities. With proper training and structured efforts, booth-level management can significantly contribute to a transparent and efficient electoral system.
The participation of karyakartas was encouraging, reflecting their commitment to strengthening democracy at the grassroots level. The session concluded with a clear message: maintaining an accurate voter list and ensuring strong booth-level organization are essential pillars of a fair and robust democratic process.
