Strengthening Electoral Integrity: Addressing SIR session in Bommanahalli Assembly Constituency

Deepak Mayasandra, Explaining about SIR to the karyakartas of Bommahalli assembly constituencyOn 18th April, a focused and insightful session on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was held in the Bommanahalli Assembly Constituency. The session witnessed the presence of MLA Satish Reddy, District President C K Ramamurthy, and dedicated booth-level karyakartas who play a crucial role in grassroots democracy.

I had the opportunity to address the gathering as the key speaker and highlight the importance of SIR in ensuring a transparent and accurate voter list. SIR is a systematic process undertaken by the Election Commission of India to verify the presence and authenticity of voters at the booth level. This exercise is vital to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.

During the session, it was emphasized that as a responsible political organization, we must remain vigilant and proactive. Our role is to ensure that all eligible and genuine voters are included in the electoral rolls, while also identifying and facilitating the removal of names of individuals who are no longer residing in the locality.

The participation of booth-level karyakartas was particularly encouraging, as they are the backbone of this entire exercise. Their close connection with the local community enables accurate verification and effective implementation of SIR activities.

The presence of senior leaders like MLA Satish Reddy and District President C K Ramamurthy added strength to the initiative, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in upholding democratic values.

The session concluded with a strong

message: ensuring a clean and accurate voter list is not just an administrative task, but a commitment to democracy itself. With coordinated efforts at every level, we can contribute to a fair and transparent electoral system.
